If you are a student or a stakeholder who wants to know more about ARTISTIC, please visit the project website through this link.
Below you will find three activities to perform in the right order : first, play an escape game where you have to fly across a battery electrode, then watch the video on how we fabricate batteries in our laboratory, and finally answer a fun quiz to become a battery champion !
Fly like a lithium-ion through an electrode ! But watch out do not touch the walls ! Just click on the "full screen" button and follow the instructions.
While arriving to the other side, you should enter into an "arrival cylinder" which will display three numbers :
- The first one is the "calculated geometrical tortuosity" which is calculated from the ratio between your fly travelled distance and the thickness of the electrode.
- The second one is the "theoretical geometrical tortuosity" which is the real one.
- The third one is a percentage telling you how far your calculated value is from the real one.
Your goal is to make this percentage as small as possible !
The geometrical tortuosity is a very important parameter determining the performance of lithium ion battery electrodes, such as their power and speed of recharge. Its value depends on the chosen direction of "fly" (X, Y or Z) and on how the electrode was manufactured !
You want to know how to manufacture a lithium-ion battery ? Watch the video below :

Watched the video and played the game ? Test yourself by answering this fun quiz below :
ARTISTIC project aims at revolutionizing the way we fabricate batteries.
